Shoemon is a Puppet Digimon. It wears the leather of shoes and the skin of plush toys. If one attempts to touch Shoemon, it will swiftly hop away to escape. It is very cowardly in nature, and, via contact with the ground, acutely senses vibrations to quickly identify outside threats. The incredible grip of Shoemon's sole allows it to traverse the roughest of roads and climb even vertical walls and pillars without issue. Given Shoemon's preference for cleanliness, it dislikes walking in sandy areas or on muddy roads. It is especially fond of sweet fruits, and opens the sole of its shoe like a mouth to heartily gobble up even tough-skinned fruits whole. Shoemon can even use the sewing needles with thread attached to travel to distant locations.[2]
Attacks
- Wonder Stomp: Shoemon's sole detaches from the rest of its body and leaps up high as part of a two-step attack.
- Petit Needle: Spits a huge number of sewing needles at enemies, stopping them in their tracks by sewing them right up.

Development
Shoemon was designed by Fumiya Kobayashi. The basis he was given by Bandai was to have a yellow puppet-type Digimon that wore clothes. The idea of it wearing clothes was eventually dropped as Kobayashi couldn't think of a way to evolve clothes in its further evolutions. Higher up Kohei Murata is a fan of sneakers, and so the design was changed to instead be based around shoes.[3]

During Arisa's duel against Violet "Vi" Inboots Arisa uses ST19-09: Pandamon's on deletion effect to allow her to play a lv3 Puppet Type Digimon from her hand for free. She uses the effect to play EX7-024: Shoemon. On her next turn she digivolves it to EX7-025: ShoeShoemon for a lower cost due to Shoemon's ability. Fable Waltz (Part 1)

A Shoemon was one of the Digimon Soundbirdmon and its tamer became friends with during their time in the Digital World. After seeing the corpses of the discarded Digimon that humans had grown bored of, she decided that humans were stupid and that she too was a human — and thus was stupid. These thoughts conflicted with her memories of making friends with Digimon, causing her to have a mental breakdown — which caused her VR headset to malfunction, putting her into DMIA.
