Synopsis

In the past, Leviamon thinks about how much it is jealous of other Digimon, and how it had seen everything from the bottom of depths of the Net Ocean. It thinks about how all Digimon envy those who are stronger than them, and that the instinct to grow stronger and fight is ingrained within Digimon themselves. It thinks about how easy it is to manipulate Digimon due to that, as well as humans after the two lifeforms started to become closer. As it thinks about them more and more, it decides it wants to eat both the human and Digital Worlds so that there would be nothing left for it to envy.

Also in the past, Gankoomon wonders how long Hajime Kawashima could survive with the injuries he had sustained. He tells Hinukamuy to look after Hajime, and tries to leave to look for food and water. Hajime stops Gankoomon though, and reveals that he hadn't given every machine to his attackers — he had managed to keep one prototype. He gives it to Gankoomon and tells him to go to the human world and protect it, as the evil Digimon would start invading soon. Gankoomon says he can't, as he needs to look after Hajime — not just because of his current wounds but because BloomLordmon and the others now saw him as an enemy due to what had happened. If Gankoomon were to leave, he would be unable to negotiate with Hajime's enemies — and Hajime would die. Hajime says he'll be fine, as he'd been watching Gankoomon — and says he'll find a way to survive. He tells Gankoomon to protect his son in his place, and be the father he wasn't strong enough to be. Seeing how serious Hajime was, Gankoomon agrees — though says he's just a substitute and that Hajime needs to become stronger. Gankoomon then uses the prototype and goes to the human world.

In the present, Gankoomon wallows in self pity — saying that Leviamon brainwashing Hackmon/Jesmon and mortally wounding Hajime was his fault, and that he's supposed to be a Royal Knight. Haruka Kawashima says that although all of that is true, he was still able to protect him and that he felt he was now able to face his dad without having to get stronger because of everything Gankoomon had done for him. He says that Gankoomon is a great father, knight, and partner, and that he knows he can stop Hackmon. This pep talk works, and Gankoomon apologizes for getting so down. Haruka says he needs his dad to be alive, as he needs to yell at him — with Gankoomon laughing and saying how Haruka had gotten stronger. AeroVeedramon arrives, and tells them it had been looking for them. It explains that a giant Digimon (Leviamon) and its minions had shown up, and that Vajramon and Pajiramon had held the minions off with the help of some sane Digimon. The giant Digimon wasn't the only issue though, a Royal Knight was also causing trouble — and as such, they needed Gankoomon's help. Gankoomon agrees to help, and has AeroVeedramon fly him and Haruka over to the fight.

When they arrive, Gankoomon explains Leviamon was the only member of the Seven Demon Lords the Royal Knights hadn't been keeping tabs on — and that no one had ever seen it before now, though quickly changes his mind and says that anyone who did see it likely got eaten. With how big Leviamon was, Gankoomon figures that was their way to win. As the gravity in the human world was so different, it figured Leviamon was unable to move and that that's why its minions were doing all the work. As such, they needed to defeat Jesmon before Leviamon got used to the gravity, so that they could then focus on Leviamon and send it back to the Digital World. Haruka says he will wait nearby with AeroVeedramon, and prepare to use his watch to do the transfer. Gankoomon mentions doing so would break the watch, with Haruka saying it's fine as it had done its job and protected him. The group split up, with Gankoomon taking Hinukamuy with him to fight Jesmon.

Leviamon insults Jesmon for being unable to defeat Gankoomon, nor kill Haruka — calling it weak. As Jesmon thinks about how weak it is, Leviamon asks if it could win next time and cement itself as the strongest of the Royal Knights. Before Jesmon can answer, Gankoomon arrives and says it had come to get Hackmon. A fight ensues, with Gankoomon noticing Jesmon was stronger and faster than before — but had lost its sanity. Haruka/AeroVeedramon watch from above, and as Jesmon seemingly defeats Gankoomon — Haruka says he needs to help. He uses the watch, and pulls Craniamon's Duo Solar Spear out of it. Haruka throws it to Gankoomon, who catches it and is surprised to see the weapon of a fellow Royal Knight. He uses Craniamon's Waltz's End attack, and defeats Jesmon. Gankoomon hugs the defeated Jesmon, and and apologizes for never facing it head on and just telling it to watch and follow his lead. Gankoomon says they should get stronger together, so that they no longer had to rely on fists and swords, with Jesmon just complaining that Gankoomon was petting it when it was a Mega. As Jesmon de-digivolves to Hackmon, it says that it just wanted its teacher to give it attention and passes out. Gankoomon gives Hackmon to Haruka, and says he will send Leviamon back to the Digital World in a single hit. He takes the watch from Haruka, and goes to the stationary Leviamon.

Leviamon summons a bunch of minions, and says it had seen everything. How Gankoomon's existence caused Hackmon and the humans to go mad — and how it strayed further and further away from its ideals every time it swung its fists. It says Digimon are unable to guide humans and that that is what limits Gankoomon, making him weak. As Gankoomon and Hinukamuy fight the minions — Gankoomon agrees, saying all he knows how to do is hit things — but that he would still make sure he got along with his friends, and even wanted to get along with Leviamon. This shocks Leviamon, though it goes right back to insulting Gankoomon — saying he was just jealous of the humans. Gankoomon admits to this, and admits to being jealous of Examon as well when Leviamon brings it up. Unable to brainwash Gankoomon with its words, Leviamon gets angry and asks why it wasn't working — with Gankoomon saying he was too stubborn. Leviamon attacks Gankoomon and Hinukamuy — but Gankoomon's counter attack connects first. As the watch was connected to Gankoomon's knuckles, it activates after hitting Leviamon's head and sends it back to the Digital World. The impact of the attack is so large, it also sends everyone else nearby to the Digital World as well.

Hajime finds Haruka on the floor, and wakes him up. When Haruka asks where he was, Hajime tells him he was in the Digital World. He realizes Haruka got caught up in Leviamon's business, though finds them reuniting in the Digital World good as he had always wanted to show it to him. He says he just wanted to be a dad Haruka could be proud of, with Hajime taken by surprise when Haruka punches him in the face. Haruka says a nice view doesn't make up for being abandoned, that he had been worried about him, and that he should've told him he was leaving. Haruka says Hajime just needed to be a normal dad, with Hajime apologizing for what he had done.

Some time later, Haruka is back in the human world. He has a video call with Hajime, who apologizes and says he forgot to tell his son he was leaving again. As Haruka says not to worry about it, Hajime puts Hackmon on the call and says it wanted to talk to him. Hackmon says that Gankoomon had been too busy to watch over Leviamon, and so it and Examon had been doing so instead. Hackmon says it'll show Haruka his "ultimate form" one day, whilst Haruka says he wishes he could properly visit the Digital World one day. Haruka tries to ends the call by telling Hackmon to say hi to Gankoomon for him, but just as Haruka is about to hang up — Gankoomon and Hinukamuy arrive. Gankoomon says they should all ride Trailmon together when Haruka visits the Digital World, with Haruka agreeing.
